Bank & Mortgage Incentives

Several UK banks and building societies now offer cashback or low-interest borrowing to mortgage customers making green home improvements — including installing a heat pump. Here's what's currently available, and how it stacks with the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.

Current Bank & Lender Offers

A snapshot of green mortgage incentives from major UK lenders. This isn't an exhaustive list — if your lender isn't shown here, it's worth asking them directly whether they offer a green additional borrowing or cashback scheme.

Can these be combined with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

In most cases, yes. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant is applied directly by us as your MCS certified installer — it comes straight off the price of your quote. Bank cashback and green borrowing schemes are separate products arranged directly with your own mortgage lender, so they generally sit on top of the BUS discount rather than competing with it.

That said, eligibility rules (such as needing a specific current account, or claiming within a set window after a new mortgage deal) vary by lender and can change. Always confirm the current terms directly with your bank before relying on a figure. See our Boiler Upgrade Scheme details for grant eligibility.
