How It Works

An air source heat pump extracts free heat from the outside air — even in winter — and uses it to heat your home and hot water. For every unit of electricity it uses, it typically delivers three to five units of heat, making it far more efficient than an oil, LPG or gas boiler.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Government grants of up to £9,000

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) gives homeowners in England and Wales a grant towards the cost of replacing a fossil fuel boiler with an air source heat pump. As MCS certified installers, we apply for the grant on your behalf — the discount comes straight off your quote.

Are you eligible?

  • You own the property (home or small non-domestic building) in England or Wales
  • You're replacing a fossil fuel system (oil, LPG, gas) or direct electric heating
  • The heat pump is installed by an MCS certified installer — that's us
  • For the enhanced £9,000 grant: your property is off the gas grid and currently heated by oil or LPG

The enhanced grant window is limited — it ends on 31 March 2027. If you heat with oil or LPG, now is the best time there has ever been to switch.
